This week was an exciting week as my new kitchen gadget finally arrived after being stuck in Belgium for a few days grrrrr. Now I bet you all want to know What it is well it is the kitchen aid pasta press which makes 6 different shaped pastas I have been think of getting it for the last three years and this year I finally decided to get it and today is the day I’m going to try it out.

So, to make the pasta dough I weigh out 200g of 00 flour and put it into a bowl. I then crack two eggs into the bowl. I mix it altogether till it forms a dough. Now I wrap it up in clingfilm and put it in the fridge to rest for 30 minutes.

Times up I take the dough out of the fridge and divide it up into small balls about the size of a walnut. Now I have already attached the pasta press to my kitchen aid. I’m going to use the fusilli shape pasta maker this time. I set it going and I put the first dough ball into the pasta press its coming out like twists. I adjust the speed and play around to see what works best as some of the pasta isn’t coming out like twists, but this is my first time doing this. In the end I sort of know what I’m doing by the time I have used all the dough up. The pasta looks good to me, I don’t know what you all think but for my first attempt I’m proud.  I put the fresh fusilli in to a pan of boiling water and cook it. It only takesa few minutes and its cook. Now in my next blog I will tel you what im making with the fresh fusilli.

So to sum up

200g 00 flour

2 eggs

So until next time happy baking
